Fermentation - sound performance and concert / Maciek Baczyk and Pawel Romanczuk (PL)

Date: 12th June 2009., 8 p.m.

Location: Dürer Kert, 1146 Budapest, Ajtósi Dürer sor 19-21.

Fermentation is not only the process leading to obtaining alcohol. This is also a patience practice, appreciation of nature, tradition remembrance and anti-cultural gesture aimed at the state monopoly. Fermentation is also a magical process leading to converting water into wine. Its rhythm sets the organic metronome, a delicate pulse locked up in a small glass pipe. The work of several carboys is a starting point for the installation oozing a subtle, polyrhythmic structure based on amplified bubble sounds. Along with the wine fermenting carboys Pawe³ Romańczuk (Small Instruments) and Maciej B¹czyk (DJ Monument) will present an improvised performance.

The Fermentation was first presented in Entropia Gallery in Wroc³aw within the AudioEntropia performance series. The series realized by Maciej B¹czyk - who actively cooperates with the gallery - serves the purpose of showing acts whose most basic element is the boundless and ambiguous sound intersecting different media.
